Jérôme Boniface (FR) joined EIPA on 5 March 2007 as a Seconded National Expert in the European Policies Unit.
He has a Master's degree in international relations and geopolitics from the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne and a Master's degree in European affairs from the College of Europe in Natolin.
During his professional career, he worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Cooperation Attaché at the French Embassy in Armenia, participating in the development of several bilateral and multilateral programmes, mostly in the educational field (French University of Yerevan, European Regional Academy of the Caucasus) and liaising with international donors and private and public Armenian bodies. He also worked as editorial director at a Spanish communication agency where he contributed to the publication of investment guides and covered trade issues between Spain and its Mediterranean partners. At ENA (Ecole Nationale d'Administration) in France he worked within the Department of Continuing Education where he helped organise and run training sessions for French and foreign civil servants on all kinds of issues, ranging from public management reform to international negotiations. He was also involved in the management of a contract programme with DG Relex aimed at training civilian experts in the field of post-conflict management.
His fields of specialisation are public administration issues, European neighbourhood policy, the enlargement process, Common Foreign and Security Policy, and external aspects of energy policy.
